An intimate musical showcase


An LBJ Experience invited the city to be a part of pushing the Dallas arts and culture scene further, challenging all notions of what it can and should be. 

Artist 2 Artist is the culmination of events in a new series that highlighted two acts of different genres. Headlining the first LBJ Experience are hip-hop heavyweights, A.Dd+ and dream pop/shoegazey stylings of The Blackstone Rangers. A.Dd+ has established themselves as the powerhouse of Dallas-based hip-hop, touring with Red Bull for the Sound Select Series, selling out Granada as headliners, obtaining critical acclaim from The Dallas Observer, D Magazine, Central Trak, and THRWD, and opening up for almost every great hip-hop touring act of the last three years. As the main opening act for HEALTH on their recent Dallas stop in the Red Bull Sound Select series, the Blackstone Rangers headlined 35 Denton, Oaktopia, and just completed a SELLOUT Midwest tour.

Medasin Music

Maneuvering behind the scenes of the entertainment industry proved to be similar to a chess match. Each decision required an extra level of strategy. In this project, we partnered up with CoolBeings Management to develop and launch emerging local artist, Medasin. 

In previous endeavors, I was deeply involved in spotlighting local talent. This experience was an opportunity to gain a different perspective on the craft – particularly, how creativity can be monetized and distributed on a global scale.

In Spotlight, our goal was to highlight local artists, creatives, and clothing brands by creating an event around live music, vendors, and good vibes.

Talent exists on such a wide scale. Even a street performer is capable of stopping people in their tracks with her craft. I met very talented people while working in the local music scene – some talents far better than some mainstream artists now. After getting to know more local artists, there was a common theme that presented itself. Talent was not enough to turn craft into profession.

Why weren't more people picking up their music? Why aren't these artists playing more shows? How many more unpaid hours are they going to have to dedicate to their craft? Tough questions that led us to an idea. What if we could produce an event that could highlight local artists? How about more than artists? We challenged ourselves to explore outside of our network to produce such an event.

Working through the rebranding process at American Airlines provided deep insight into the operations of one of the largest and most influential companies in the world. The process of a rebranding a billion dollar company is a spectacle to be witnessed by any designer. Being involved this process immediately catapults design experience.

In efforts to rebuild an iconic brand, the role at American Airlines was to rebrand the entire B2B suite of marketing initiatives, creating designs that engage with small to mid-sized businesses.  I handled a variety of projects within complex corporate structures and worked collaboratively with external agencies as well. I also provided strategic and conceptual design thinking with the expectation to drive revenue upward.

Versatility and tenacity re key factors in executing new projects within a large corporate environment where each department is accustomed to their own processes.
